Datengrundlage ist die Vollerfassung von 400 Millionen Rezepten fur die Patienten der gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung. Wesentliche Elemente der Kostensenkung waren der Ausschluss rezeptfreier Arzneimittel aus der vertragsC$rztlichen Versorgung, erhC6hte Rabatte der Arzneimittelhersteller an die Krankenkassen, erhC6hte Patientenzuzahlungen und die Einfuhrung einer Praxisgebuhr. Aktuelle Verordnungstrends werden an 3000 Arzneimitteln in 46 Indikationsgruppen dargestellt. Besonders eingegangen wird auf: Bewertung von 33 Neueinfuhrungen des Jahres 2004, Einsparerfolge bei Generika und umstrittenen Arzneimitteln, Verordnungsprofil rezeptfreier Arzneimittel. Als Schwerpunkthema werden die Arzneiverordnungen pharmazeutischer Hersteller und ihr Produktsortiment im Kindesalter dargestellt.
